Course Description
This course teaches the essential skills required by an AED operator and gives people the confidence to know what to do in this kind of emergency. In the UK, one person suffers a heart attack every two minutes, early defibrillation can dramatically increase the victim's chances of survival.
AED Training Objectives

On completion of the course, candidates will be able to demonstrate how to deliver CPR in conjunction and AED unit.
Topics include:
  • Scene Safety Assessment, protection of victim, bystanders and yourself
  • Precautions - Protection, including barrier use for infection control
  • Primary Assessment, Obstructed Airway Management
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • AED Use
  • Selecting the correct pads for the victim
  • Placement of pads for adults infants and children
  • Understanding and following voice commandstant Information

  • Course Outcome
    On completion successful delegates will receive a Level 2 Award which is part of nation QCF framework.
